UK’s new industrial strategy places clean energy manufacturing at its core

Clean Energy Manufacturing, new industrial plan in UK

A new ten-year industrial plan unveiled by the UK Government signals a significant step forward in the country’s clean energy ambitions.

Launched in June 2025, the strategy outlines a long-term commitment to expanding advanced manufacturing and lowering energy costs for businesses – with clean energy industries at its centre. The government aims to double investment in clean energy manufacturing, bringing it to over £30 billion annually by 2035.

One of the key measures includes a major reduction in electricity costs for UK industry starting in 2027. This is expected to make the UK a more competitive location for energy-intensive industries, including solar and battery technology.

The plan also introduces reforms to grid connection processes and green levies – streamlining energy infrastructure for businesses while supporting the growth of renewables.

Elements Green welcomes this strategic focus on clean energy. The long-term industrial plan strongly aligns with our belief that renewable energy and sustainable manufacturing must go hand in hand. With major solar and energy storage projects in the pipeline we are proud to contribute to this national transition.

As the UK scales its clean energy capacity, policies like these will help ensure that investment and innovation are rooted in domestic expertise and benefit local communities.
